Hi, I'm Edward Fan, a communications designer with a passion for colour theory and typography. I found that studying design styles greatly broadened my ability to flexibly apply styles, transform and handle details, and I could begin to challenge more complex problems on my own. I am passionate about experimenting with permutations and combinations to produce design solutions that are both minimalistic and unique. In terms of brand identity, I work on how to improve visual language design, applying the expertise I have gained to create coherent identities for digital typography, publishing, print design and social media creation.
“Beyond the screen, embrace the world.” Billboard Poster
“Beyond the screen, Life remains vibrant.” This is a theme I conceived after gaining insight into the myriad of negative emotions experienced by today’s young generation, who use social media as their primary means of interacting and building friendships. Through a combination of posters and social media, I aim to encourage people trapped in the online world to shed virtual emotions and fully embrace the rich experiences of real life. In order to emphasize the emotional control of the virtual world, I specially chose the black and yellow colour scheme to form a sharp visual contrast and provide a vivid reminder to passers-by.
