This project aims to build a habitat for future human occupants on Mars, within the next half-century. This five-story subterranean facility is nestled within the Martian canyon terrain and accommodates 110 people. Each floor has a specific role and has been precisely built to meet the particular requirements of Martian habitation, such as the reduced while tackling the sustainability challenges we faced on earth. This speculative project plots a route for a long-term human presence on Mars.

Glimpse of the future on Mars

This striking render provides an enthralling look from orbit as the first Martians get closer to their new home. The structure extends a welcome to Martians and is a symbol of sustainability and optimism. Viewed from this perspective, the design's inventive elements stand out, and the feeling of community is evident. A new age begins with the sunrise's warm hues over the Martian horizon. While some brave Martians have already set out to explore, others are waiting in the rocket to get a sneak peek at their fascinating new home. The essence of a forward-thinking Martian city is captured by combining futuristic architecture, environmental awareness and a symbol of hope.

Martian Settlers & Habitat in the Heart of Valles Marineris

The enormous expanse of the Martian environment in contrast to the breathtaking Valles Marineris canyon is depicted in this illustration. The canyon's immense size provides a striking background that draws attention to the significant prospects and issues that Mars presents. Observations of Martians exploring space represent the spirit of adaptability and discovery. The structure itself becomes a centre of activity as residents make use of the many facilities and areas created for living in the distinct Martian environment. Human construction and the surrounding Martian terrain are harmonious because of the meticulous attention to detail and the way light and shadow interact.

Martian distorted happiness

This playful image depicts the vitality of our Martian environment. The image, which has been purposefully warped for a humorous touch, shows the residents engaged in pleasant activities, emphasising the cohesion of the community. Despite not being represented to scale, the building serves as a vivid context for the energetic action. Through social interactions and discoveries, Martian life reveals the many dimensions of our sustainable way of existence. The artistic flare is enhanced by the distortion, which highlights the joyful energy that characterises our futuristic habitat. The goal of the piece is to capture the lively and joyful spirit of life on our Martian home.

Martian habitat prototype

This first comprehensive drawing captures the spirit of our architectural concept and offers an early look into the origins of our Martian aspirations. The structure, an example of human tenacity, is depicted deftly against the Martian terrain, striving to fill the immense Valles Marineris canyon. The ambitious goal of building a new home on Mars is depicted in great detail in the drawing. The sketch serves as a prototype, representing my intention to grow and change—imagining a future metropolis encircled by the Martian canyon. This piece serves as a tribute to the start of our adventure, showing the initial steps of what will eventually grow into a prosperous Martian habitat.

Celestial Play

Inside the walls of our Martian home, a novel activity called balloon ball takes the stage. This team game, designed specifically to take advantage of Mars' unique dynamics, transforms conventional play in the planet's lower gravity. Balloon Ball, which takes its cues from Earth's balloon-striking dynamics, requires agility, coordination, and precision. Balloon Ball embodies the spirit of Martian life, which is lively, inventive, and adaptable. As a sport designed for Mars, it represents our dedication to building a dynamic and unique community, where even our games are a reflection of the incredible place we now call home.

Floor plan

This floorplan presents every corner and crevice of the building in exact scale and detail, providing a clean, uncluttered picture of the whole thing. Every component—from the ground floor's sleeping pods to the higher floors' busy labs and gathering areas—works together to create a peaceful living environment. It's a visual aid that helps visitors understand the nuances of our Martian home. As occupants, each curve and line symbolises the deliberate design of areas suited to our needs, creating a feeling of community and practicality.
