Monash Library Usability Case Study Report

The Monash Library website constitutes an integral component of the broader Monash website, frequently visited by students on a weekly basis. Offering a diverse range of indispensable tools and functions, the library enhances students’ learning journeys and campus life. As a design team, I was tasked to conduct a user study, create a research report and conceptualise ways to improve the user experience of the current library website.

CatBot – servce robot

As technology continues to evolve, the integration of robots into various aspects of society becomes increasingly prominent. CatBot is a new proposed AI-embedded robot that will serve as a smart assistant within the Monash Caufield Library. This project consisted of background research, user interviews, a written design proposal and a visual conceptualisation of what and how a smart robot may help to serve the Monash library.

MOOSPACE

The current Monash Moodle website lacks customisation functions that allow students to reach their full potential. MOOSPACE is a new Moodle plugin that creates a collaborative workspace where students and teachers can communicate effectively. The style of comments given and received are determined based on the format that best suits each individual user. The plugin aims to embrace online collaboration and hopes to make Moodle feel more personalised, boosting usability and user experience.
