Juliet Phraser is an artist and writer based in Naarm (Melbourne). Living with chronic illness and auditory processing disorder, her practice grows out of personal healing and the endurance of care. Her work spans across video, drawing, sculpture and social practice.

Bodyclock

60 x 60cm, Laser cut and engraving on blue acrylic mirror with plywood backing.

A reflective circle shaped panel with a feminine figure at centre is surrounded by engravings of body parts and cut out arrows. These arrows both in towards the figure and out to the edges of the mirror. Displayed around the perimeter of the main panel are twelve circular cut-outs featuring detailed engravings of body parts and processes.

Dumbbells

Cast aquatic dumbbell sculptures made from soy wax dyed with crayons, pool water and long cotton candle wicks appearing from both ends.

Warm Water

Digital 4K Video with Audio (still), Performances by Stacey Collee, Lidia Byrne, Lia Dewey Morgan, Benita Beveridge, Beanz Divine, Ziyi Wei, Jacky (ZiZi) Jia, Tracey Brown and Mike West. Filmed in Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre's Hydrotherapy Pool.
