Maintaining Care

Maintaining Care holds space to explore ideas and practices around three overarching lenses of care: Care for Values through Positionality and Relationality, Care for Country, Place and Community, and Care for Knowledge. The process begins by positioning ourselves in relation to our values, and connecting to a “thing” which embodies those values. Working towards caring for each other’s values and “thing”, we engage in drawing exercises that explore lifecycles, materiality, and human and non-human habitation. An existing built form or space within Caulfield is identified as a continuation of the notion of care and maintenance within this context. Finally, rituals around the collective maintenance of care are designed collaboratively in small groups.
