A North Fitzroy Project
A project that aims to enhance density, biodiversity, and vitality in the heart of North Fitzroy, adjacent to Piedimonte’s. In response to the ongoing housing crisis and rising cost of living, the design focuses on affordability and spatial efficiency. Working alongside four wonderful other students, each tasked with a distinct aspect of the development. These include office spaces, a public courtyard, communal areas, the revitalisation of an existing pub and apartments, my area of focus. Our collective goal was to create a vibrant, sustainable hub that exceeds the community's needs and invites more diversity into the area whilst maintaining a respect for its immediate and larger context.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
