She is interested in practicing in an unrestrained field of architecture, in which she can work across architecture, digital art, academia and research; stepping into concepts of culture, identity, loss, the violence of architecture, and democratising space within the context of the settler colony.

Parudeesa

A critique of British imperialism embedded in Indian society through transformation of colonial rule into India’s current militant Hindu ultra-nationalism. An allegorical representation of the tension between resistance and colonial persistence, through the lens of cultural erasure - more specifically, through the histories of Bharathanatyam and Urdu poetry. This drawing tells the cautionary tale of a space that is limitless; dispersed in the hustle and bustle, seen by any and all, even under the night sky. Women dance madly, unbounded by passivity, by men, and by walls, demarcated stages and boundaries that violently limit and confine bodies from moving ad libitum and at whim.
