My name is Haruna Kimura and I am a first year masters student. I strongly believe that architecture is about finding the harmony between art, science, environment and technology and it is such a beautiful tool to brighten one’s life. I have a strong passion towards the architecture that can creates many unexpected interactive space and hoping that my works can tell the passions.

The idea of the design is to provide the multi purpose co-working place that will celebrate the site quarry material through the building to express the beauty of the story after the extraction. Almost the building is acting as a gallery, it will provide the opportunity of gather and educate the people while understanding the beauty of the site and story behind.

Tower details and Kit of parts
Throughout the semester, student focused on the material strategy and kit of parts by designing the tower to demonstrate them. My focus was to reduce the waste and provide more flexible and longevity design outcome where I got inspired by the Japanese joinery. This will arrows to flexibly change the each components and where the design challenge was how to maintain the stability from this fragile material.
