Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2024

As a student of design and media communications at Monash University, I am continuously driven by a passion for creativity and exploration. My work is a reflection of a personal journey, one that invites experimentation across diverse mediums and techniques. Recently, my focus has turned toward the urgent issue of illegal songbird poaching in Italy—a subject that deeply resonated with me after my six-week Prato experience. Through this project, I have embraced the power of video performance and multimedia storytelling to confront complex issues and inspire change. This work is a testament to my evolving artistic vision and commitment to social impact.

Silent Spring

The Silent Spring flash mob was designed as a subtle yet impactful performance to raise awareness about the illegal poaching of songbirds in Italy. In this piece, the one in red represents the songbird, while the other performers embody humans, symbolising the forces trapping these birds. Instead of holding hands, performers held onto shirts, forming a cage-like effect as the one in red tried—and ultimately failed—to escape, collapsing to the ground. We used fluid movements over strict choreography to create a natural, expressive feel. Filmed from multiple angles, the performance captivated onlookers, sparking curiosity and engagement with the campaign's message.
