Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2024

Hi! I am Charlotte, I am a communication designer who with a particular focus on identity, branding and tyopography.

In the future, I hope to become a desiger who able to maintain my style while being able to adapt to various themes and contexts. I want to blend my unique style with the world and become a communication designer who can tackle any project with creativity and adaptability. Therefore, I love trying a wide range of design styles instead of fixing with single style. I also enjoy designing fonts and playing with colours to explore the diversity and possibilities within design.

RMIT Design Hub - RMIT Grad Shows 2024

This project involves creating a typographic identity system and its applications inspired by the RMIT Design Hub located in Carlton, Melbourne CBD. The concept and type design was inspired from the building’s dot pattern and this poster was designed for the RMIT 2024 Grad Shows, using vivid colors to evoke a playful and creative image.

Isamu Noguchi - Publication

This is a publication project and we need to pick one of the weekly topics of Alice Rawsthorn’s Daily Dairy in social media and use the text supplied to design an informative publication. Among different topics, I picked Isamu Noguchi, an American artist who is known for his sculpture and public artwork. As most of his works used monochrome or low-saturated colours, so I used monochrome in the publication as well to present the aesthetic. His artworks give me a sense of calm and space so I also leave some blank space in the design to convey these senses.

Stay Foolish - Tramshelter Poster

This is a project to form the basis for an identity for a food-related business based on our personal 'food memory'.

My chosen memory is going to a bakery with my friends after school during high school. This memory represent my innocence and foolishness during high school, which was part of my joy. Recalling the memory is a chance that allows me to escape from reality momentarily.

Therefore, I name the business Stay Foolish in hopes of remembering people’s happy moments when they feel life is hard and providing them a chance to take a break with our cookies. I designed the poster with a fun and engaging visual to attract audiences and align with the brand’s concept.

UWS Aquarium Gakyo - Tickets

My re-brand for UWS Aquarium Gakyo relies on the use of font, colour and images to create a sense of Japanese traditional style. These ticket designs effectively incorporate these design elements, resulting in a clean and approachable outcome that successfully presents the brand's new image.

‘You are not alone’ - Stickers

I chose to explore the topic of cultural identity for my activation campaign. These are QR code stickers that link directly to the campaign’s Instagram page when scanned. They will be placed in various visible locations around the city, such as lamp posts and windows, focusing on areas frequented by internationals, like school campuses.

The design of these posters used a circle with a single colour as this represents individuals scattered in different places. When they gather together through the campaign, it is just like diverse colours blend together can create a sense of ‘unity’ and ‘not alone’.
