Medical procedures such as immunisations, can be a scary and intimidating experience for children. Often, medical care providers or guardians are required to either create a space which is comforting, or offer distractions to reduce their fears. Prickly Shot supports medical care providers in creating an anxiety-free environment for children during the immunisation process.

Prickly Shot

A design which uses mechanical springs to hide the needles from view and offer a sensory distraction.

Storyboard

Receiving yearly immunisations can be a source of stress and discomfort for children. Prickly Shot helps to ensure a smoother and more pleasant experience.

Context Use

Many find seeing the needle to be daunting, therefore Prickly Shot disguises the sharp needle from the patient throughout the injection process.

Spike Detail

Another source of discomfort for patients is feeling the needle and vaccine entering their body. The spike details on the top of the cactus presses into the skin and offers a sensory distraction.

Exploded View

The simple, mechanical design makes Prickly Shot easy to assemble and manufacture, thus making it a cost effective solution.

Designed for Children and Medical Care Staff

Prickly Shot transforms the intimidating immunisation process into a fun and approachable experience.
