As an interdisciplinary designer, I believe that creativity drives meaningful change.

BEEON is dedicated to protecting bees, which are under threat due to climate change and habitat loss. With our main pollinator at stake, collective effort is needed now more than ever. At the heart of BEEON lies an interdisciplinary approach aimed at creating an immersive campaign that drives social impact. BEEON believes that design is a powerful tool that connects ideas to the community. By translating concepts into engaging experiences, we aim to evoke emotions that resonate and inspire people to do good for the bees, environments, and beyond.

Outstanding Project: Sustainability and Social Impact

The Garden

A unique urban sanctuary supporting bees and biodiversity, centered around a striking bee nesting sculpture. Surrounded by native plants that attract pollinators, it invites the community to connect with nature, learn about bees' vital role, and enjoy a peaceful retreat that promotes ecological harmony.

The Reason

The decline of bee populations in Australia, exacerbated by bushfires and drought, threatens biodiversity and crop pollination. Habitat loss and extreme conditions are reducing bee resilience, endangering ecosystems and food production. BEEON aims to combat this by promoting community efforts to protect bees and restore pollinator habitats

The Nest

The BEEON nest stands 7 meters tall, shaped like a vibrant, towering flower with colorful petals. Its sculptural design features numerous small holes for bee nesting, creating an inviting habitat. The eye-catching structure blends art and function, enhancing the environment while supporting bee populations and engaging the community in conservation efforts.

The Vision

BEEON Vision uses Augmented Reality that immerses users in the bee community, offering a bee’s-eye view of their vital role in ecosystems. This experience gives users a sense of how bees will navigate their life throughout their garden, supported by mini games such as ‘collect-the-pollen’, making educational activities a bit more entertaining.

The Friend

Bobee is an educational mascot for BEEON, designed to raise awareness about bees and pollination. Through playful engagement, Bobee encourages learning and inspires action for sustainability and environmental care. Bobee aims to be a friendly face for kids to remove their fear for bees and understand better about the role that they have in the environment.

The Creative Hub

Beeon Hub is an open-source design platform focused on bees and pollination, featuring rewards, competitions, and community involvement. Designed for Australia and New Zealand, it follows a closed-loop model to ensure repairability, reduce ecological impact, and meet local standards. Beeon Hub offers customizable designs so people can implement sustainable practices that cater to their specific needs, for example, our 3-in-1 Pollination Planter.
