Industrial Design practice is increasingly contributing to areas outside of the traditional pillars of industrial manufacturing and craft-based object design. Societal, political and environmental challenges present opportunities for designers to contribute to building a more equitable future. In response to these challenges, students were able to investigate issues such as; environmental degradation, mental health, accessibility, material reuse and innovation, behaviour change, and safety in the community. These considered responses show the power of design to contribute simple solutions to complex challenges.
