Above Ground Oasis

This drawing shows the future development trend of public space in urban villages, namely the use of roof space. Through the large main road and a number of small connections, a rooftop "oasis" is created, which is responsible for improving people's living standards and uniting the community. Due to the special properties of urban villages, they are generally neglected and will exist for a long time in the future. I hope to improve people's living conditions through spatial design with limited conditions. In my opinion, design should have universal value and be designed for most people in need.

Site analysis - Baishizhou Area

By analyzing the Site, I found that the local people have almost no basic afforestation and public space, and the distance between buildings is very short, which gives me design inspiration. I can connect the buildings through Bridges and design the rooftop community to meet the existing challenges.

Site layer / Divide functions

The site design should be related to the surrounding environment. There is no green space around the building group, and it is close to the school. Most residents here are parents with children, so I planned a stepped green space, and a unique children's play area is the characteristic of this community.

Children's Play center

The children's entertainment space is designed according to the actual needs of this area, using high and low differences and vibrant color matching to provide a pleasant play space for children.

BBQ/ Dining Area

The core social space, where people can communicate, cook, around the green vegetation can significantly relieve people's stress emotions, this public area can unite the community and improve the cohesion of the community.

Rest center

This area is connected to the surrounding buildings, and the movement of people causes people to gather here, making this area need a center of rest.
