Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2025

“M-HUB” is envisioned as a central precinct within the Monash Clayton campus, serving as a key node for transit, knowledge exchange, and creative collaboration. Reimagining 93–97 Normanby Road as a hybrid industry–research and community hub, the project positions itself strategically between Monash University and the future Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Monash station. With the SRL set to transform the area from a point of transit into a vibrant destination, the site will act as a connective interface, linking campus life, industry innovation, and the surrounding community.

M-HUB as part of the urban fabric

“M-HUB” retains the existing warehouse structure, introducing mezzanine levels for human-scaled activity, while a new 10-storey tower will house start-up incubators, creative studios, long-term offices, an event terrace (podium) and many more. The Howleys Road facade becomes a community interface, while the site’s large easement is transformed into a civic plaza, connecting the SRL station.

By balancing continuity with transformation, “M-HUB” acts as a gateway between industry and education, community and infrastructure, setting a benchmark for a sustainable, transit-oriented innovation district.
