I'm Jack, a graphic designer and business student based in Melbourne's East. I have a keen eye for brand identity and enjoy the process of bringing these business ideas to life through design. I like creating work that’s practical and made with purpose, something that serves the community and helps achieve real goals. I want my designs to stand out for the right reasons: to be interesting, to grab attention and to feel relatable to the wider community. I love seeing how my design can make an impact, whether that’s through shaping a brand, telling a story, or creating something people connect with.
"Venture Out There" Coffee Table Book
The pinnacle of my Activation Campaign, a carefully curated coffee table book, designed to inspire readers to get outdoors and experience what our own bush backyard has to offer. A combination of nearly a century's worth of family photos and stories, this book is something close to my heart.
Beerzarre Brew
Designed from a food memory of trying a strange flavoured Stout recommended by a co-worker, the Beerzarre Brew was born, with a mixed four pack of strange flavours. I used this project to work on my ability to create package design, seeking to make the cans feel unique yet still part of a set, with a great range of colours and images to represent each flavour.
One Percent Fitness App
A brand identity outcome, in which I chose to create a fitness app that was inclusive and practical, with a key focus on offering users insights on how they performed compared to their previous personal bests. I wanted to highlight the idea of self-growth and self-evaluation, avoiding the overly comparative nature of other fitness apps. With a strong identity focused on the 'everyday person', One Percent is an app for all.
"Venture Out There" Bush Inspired Craft Beer Series
Focused on the idea of people being 'out there' and experiencing nature, my Craft Beer series features designs with a key environmental focus. Not only does the logo design feature a hop cone blended with a pine tree, along with topographical backgrounds for each can design, but its primary objective is achieved through the factual message provided on each can. Users are encouraged to think more deeply about their waste management and recycling habits, with the can encouraging users to clean up after themselves and think more about the recycling process.
"Venture Out There" Coffee Table Book Spread
Featuring old family photos and stories thanks to my great frandfather who worked at Kodak, this coffee table book seeks to inspire the next generation of Australian bush men and woman.
"Venture Out There" Craft Beer Series
Featured in the Craft Beer series was three cans: The Alpine Ale, Outback Amber and the Lakeside Lager, all created to be enjoyed whilst experiencing what the Australian Bush has to offer.
