My featured project, the Enfold Tote Bag, is a convertible shelter system that transforms from a bag into a tent and blanket. It is project that aims to provide dignity and security for those without stable housing.
Enfold Tote Bag
The Enfold Tote Bag is a multi-functional emergency shelter system designed for unhoused people. This design uses an origami-inspired folding structure to transform from a portable bag into two essential components: a protective tent and a warm blanket.
Bag Structure
The outer layer unfolds to create a tent structure that shields users from rain, wind, and sun, while the inner layer detaches to serve as a blanket for warmth during cold nights. When not deployed as shelter, it functions as a practical tote bag for carrying personal belongings.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
