Aligned Abstraction intends to open dialogue between artists and their practice, uncovering the driving forces behind the contemporary return to abstraction.

Through our exhibition we wish to investigate an increasingly noticeable group of emerging artists who embody abstraction within their practice, and generate completely unique works. We ask the question: What conceptual concerns—involving materiality—are driving contemporary Australian artists to work with abstraction? This line of inquiry sets each the artists apart.
