Aisha Hara

I am interested in the intersections of painting and translation; my works begins by looking at a fragment of familial poetry and drawing. In a process of translating tanka poems, I access transient symbols of spring flowers and how time passes and consumes. By finding touch points within poetry the work then takes on its own trajectory of mark making.
