Janae Hunter is a visual artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Working between painting and sculpture, Hunter returns to the bed as a metaphorical site, weaving through the poetics of its restorative relationship to the body. Her practice explores a rhythm within sleep and breath, considering gestures of subtlety through material trace and care. Her research continues to unfold a conversation around sleep and breath as vital rituals attending to the body’s capacities and soft demands to heal.
