Skins is designed as an interactive exhibition to tackle the lack of awareness of the social issue of colourism through ‘a choose your own adventure’ experience integrated with a conversing journey. Sited within State Library Victoria, the exhibition combines the physical and the virtual in a library setting, offering a new perspective of the ordinary. Throughout the journey, intimacy between the users is shared in which they are connected through the effect of a mock reflection that merges the skins together, creating a unique avatar of themselves. The intervention is intended for users to discover new layers about themselves while blurring boundaries as they are reflected in one another.
