Residential Perma-futures is a retrofit + adaptive re-use proposal cantered around Monash Clayton’s Howitt Hall.
Residential Perma-Futures
The proposal consists of the strategic building expansion on the Northern and Eastern Facades as well as a communal native garden, kitchen, and education space. Additionally, BIPV Solar Panels are used to completely power the building and an organic waste chute and on site bio digester recycles Howitt Hall’s organic waste for composting and the production of energy.
Residential Perma-Futures
The building expansion adds approximately 160m2 of usable space per floor and can be accessed via the student’s rooms.
Residential Perma-Futures
The communal native garden and educational space is located out the back of the MRS Halls café and was designed to be completely self-sustaining. All vegetation grown would be those native to the region and is intended to be for the whole Clayton Residential Village.
