Design processes can stir up questions, re-evaluate norms and attempt to approach emergent technological and cultural possibilities. By placing a greater emphasis on design as a cultural exercise, rather than economic or neatly bounded problem solving, students could explore and express their subjectivities through a design lens. By utilising methods such as; Design Fictions, Speculative Design, Interrogative Design, Critical Design, Radical Design, Protest Design, and Anarchic Design, the project outcomes have sought to create work that stays with viewers and sparks or shifts discussion.
