Hi, my name is Alannah, and I am a communication design graduate from 2021. As a designer, I tend to gravitate more towards print based work, such as identity, branding and publication. I also love to work in bright, colourful and bold imagery, and enjoy photography and illustration, and find that after a short 1 month internship at the Narrandra Argus (newspaper) that I am proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and am looking forward to using and growing my skills in a studio workplace.

Sinkholes

The idea behind this work was to explore the Google Maps 360 spheres and the different glitches that are made when the computer tries to stitch together multiple images and erase the person taking the photo. This phenomena often took the appearance of a circle, thus creating the idea of a "sinkhole". This project is a documentation of this imagery, in publication form, in an effort to draw a link between the natural and digital worlds, and the almost magical connection between them.

Cinémathèque

An identity idea for Melbourne Cinémathèque for the year 2022, this concept is about light and colours/images, specifically the moment when a lense and a beam of light interact with each other in a projector. The visuals were accomplished through photography with a technique called photoelasticity, and the use of cellophane, which caused the vivid colours used throughout this project.
