This project was delivered to explore the four ways in how we interact with digital technology and each other users within. The aim was to symbolise each interaction through nature and past technologies.
The Online - Title Screen
This is the title screen to The Online, it consists of a large heading and a small text on top of a disrupted and noisy-pixelated screen. The title, selected in a bold and block typeface was done to heavily express the topic of the project, and a small description of the content is given underneath it. The pixelated background is a symbolism to technology and the magical and mysteriousness of it.
The Online - Content
This is the content that will be viewed throughout ‘The Online’. It consists of a livestreamed gameplay and within that livestream there are layered elements that pop up and visualise what how we interact with livestreams, exampled by the randomised letters in the donation and chat box.
The Online - Intermission
This is the intermission to The Online. The intermission discusses the social topic of masks and personalities. In relation to technology and drawing from past objects and nature, these are the ways in which we unconsciously utilise masks.
The Online
This is ‘The Online’ in whole, an eight-minute edited livestream that explores the ways in which we interact with the online, in this case livestreaming and online gaming, hence the title ‘The Online’. Throughout the video there are layers that describe these interactions and layers that draw from the past to allow us for better understanding of those interactions.
