Welcome! I am Anna, a passionate design and marketing student. As a double degree student I have loved being able to combine my interests in both design and business, which has sparked a particular interest in brand identity and digital design. My main studio project is a campaign that allows people to validate their individual emotions and in turn encourage people to speak up. I believe design is more than just aesthetics. It can be very powerful through the use of simple illustrations and type, by bringing people together and prompting discussion. My campaign aims to do just that and I hope you enjoy viewing my work!

Express Your Emotions – Sock Range One
Every day we put on a pair of socks! This range of socks allows people to express their emotions in a bold, fun and exciting manner. The socks act as a starting point for people to be able to notice how others are feeling and then prompt them to start a discussion based on these emotions illustrated on the socks. Sometimes people are too afraid or embarrassed to speak up or do not know how to bring up certain topics, therefore the socks act as a way to bridge that gap and make people feel more comfortable.

Express Your Emotions – Sock Range Two
Not everyone is loud and bold, therefore I felt it was necessary to create a second range of socks which still allow people to express their emotions. This range is extremely subtle, with only the illustration being visible on the bottom of the socks. People change their socks daily and so do their emotions, thus tying the ideas of the campaign together.

Express Your Emotions – Short Video
The purpose of this short video is to allow people to reflect on their emotions and encourage them to discuss them with others. The video will be on all social media channels and uses rhetorical questions to allow the viewer to stop and think about their emotions. I used simple motion animations and the same illustrations throughout the entire campaign allowing the campaign to be easily recognisable and for the message to be easily conveyed to the viewer.

Express Your Emotions – Social Media Campaign
Combining my passion for marketing and design, I wanted my final outcome for this campaign to be focused around social media. My target audience spends a lot of their time on social media, therefore I wanted to create a set of posters that form a social media campaign. The posters are very minimal and use a combination of typography and emotion illustrations to encourage the viewer to express their emotions. The colour palette used throughout the entire campaign is warm and inviting and reflects a wide range of emotions. Additionally the colours used also vary in tone to resemble that emotions are not always as clear cut as they seem.

Melbourne Cinémathèque – 2022 Calendar Program
I created an identity for the 2022 Melbourne Cinémathèque season. This calendar informs viewers about the different films that will be screened, when they will be screened and what time. I included a wide variety of film stills in my calendar as they provide a visual break for the viewer between all the text and allows them to get a taste of what the film entails. I also used orange angled rectangles to reference the unique accents on the ‘e’s of Cinémathèque and also to remind viewers that the Melbourne Cinémathèque is not your usual cinema experience.

Melbourne Cinémathèque – 2022 Digital Screens
Another part of this project included creating a set of digital screens that could be used at next year’s screenings. When at the cinema, we look at a screen and are transported to another world. I aimed to reflect this feeling and depicted it by using the stills from the films within the title. I used the large 2022 numbers to create shapes across the screen in a bold and unusual manner, because when you watch a good movie, you never know what to expect.
