Hi there! My name’s Annabel.
I’m excited for my next steps as a new design graduate.

The most fascinating area of design for me is User Experience design. I love learning about people, and investigating the why and hows and how to design better with people in mind, so this area of design is a good fit for me.

My most important values are respect, honesty and learning, and I try to practice these every day through my work and interactions with others.

Non-for-Profit Rebrand: Story Dogs

Story Dogs is an Australian Non-for-Profit which partners accredited “Story Dogs” and volunteers with primary-school children who are struggling with reading. Through sessions together where the child reads regularly with the Story Dog and volunteer, the child improves their literacy skills and confidence by leaps and bounds.

This Non-for-Profit does great work, and its long list of eager schools on their waiting list is a testament to that. However, Story Dogs needs more community awareness and sponsorship in order to grow. A rebrand was required in order to create a modern, cohesive look to the organisation and to inspire excitement and trust with the community.

Donor "Thank you" pack

A thoughtful "Thank you" pack sent to donors builds connection and strengthens the relationships between the donor and Story Dogs.

Brand Guidelines

The new Brand Guidelines helps create a fun, cohesive face to Story Dogs that is distinctive and memorable. It provides a set of principles and instructions to help the organisation accurately reflect the brand across digital and print touchpoints.

Home page redesign

The original Story Dogs website created significant usability challenges and required an overhaul to improve the user’s experience on the website and their trust of the organisation. I restructured the navigation of the site and improved this through testing and iteration, and applied the Brand Guidelines I created to improve the hierarchy and structure of the website.

Nice Choice!: Mobile Sustainability App

Nice Choice! is a mobile app which helps users make sustainable shopping choices more easily.

Research highlighted that although many people have good intentions to buy sustainably when shopping, searching sustainability information takes time and energy, and therefore most people don’t do it.

Nice Choice! takes the time and effort out of these sustainability searches and comparison, making it easy for users to make better environmental choices when shopping. It provides a central location for users to access sustainability information that is easily digestible. This provides greater transparency and ease around sustainable shopping and helps people make more empowered choices.

Self-introduction (and some art!)

I think we’re all probably a little tired of reading names on screens. It feels a bit strange not being able to put a name to a face! So here’s mine.
