Hi, I am Brittany Kitchingman! I am a Melbourne based graphic designer where I enjoy pushing myself creatively. I have a strong interest in brand identity, graphics, and using online platforms such as web and social media to enhance my works. I love working with strong colour and typography which is demonstrated in my designs. The Not For Nothin’ brief pushed me to re-brand and modernise WIRES Wildlife Rescue’s current branding, which is a not-for profit organsation. For my final collateral project I re-designed their current website as it was a major touch-point in their brand that was missing clear navigation, my aim for the rebrand and redesign was also to help re-build their community engagement online through more thoughtful and engaging communication design.

WIRES Wildlife Rescue, Poster Series

The poster series campaign for WIRES was created using strong illustrations, using a play on negative space to create these fun native Australian animal designs. The posters aim is to provoke friendly interactions with the audience, as the simple layout is eye-catching and easy to read out in public.

WIRES Wildlife Rescue, Brand Guidelines

A GIF demonstrating a few page spreads from the brand guidelines book. The revitalised brand identity for the Not For Profit organisation, WIRES Wildlife Rescue, incorporates colour as an integral part of their identity by communicating an inviting, fun and friendly feeling to the audience. Combined with a modern rounded Sans serif and strong graphical elements this identity is simple yet effective.

WIRES Wildlife Rescue, Website (Homepage)

The chosen collateral piece of WIRES Wildlife Rescue is their website. With strong touch-points and community members visiting it constantly with difficult navigation and design elements. The rebranding of the website was kept with a simple layout and having strong headers, footers and buttons for easy navigation. There is a focus on strong imagery and bold colours to create a cohesive brand across all other applications.

WIRES Wildlife Rescue, Website (Rescue Help Page) & Responsive Layout

The main features of the website was to have a few main tabs that were easily accessible for users. This page explains the strong flexibility of the new website and easy access across other devices and simple layout will help grow WIRES community engagement online.

Vision 2022, Microsite, To view site visit: https://vimeo.com/user153253298

The microsite design based on Sydney ball encapsulates his aesthetic and body of work. The minimal and grid structure lines refers to these strong use of sharp lines in his more later works where he created geometric shaped sculptures. The design is a one page scroll website and includes his biography and collection of works.

Vision 2022, Poster Design

The exhibition titled ‘Clean Lines’ transforms artist, Sydney Ball’s work to life. Sydney Ball best known for his distinctive response to questions of colour and form through innovative practices, the focus for this identity was to encapsulate how he worked with minimal and geometric forms using bold colour. My identity focuses on creating these subtle forms using bit-mapping in these poster design and bold typography.
