Hi, I'm Chen Ming, a UI designer who is passionate about pursuing the existence of artistic beauty in life. I have 5 years of basic experience in design. Specifically, I studied Bachelor of Animation and Interactive Media Design for 3 years at RMIT and Master of Interaction Design for 2 years at Monash.

In my opinion, the most difficult thing in design is to solve a problem in a way that exceeds user expectations. I always try my best to understand users' innermost feelings and needs, and consider users' behaviour and characteristics. Stay curious, stay playful, feel every tiny and delicate emotion.

If you'd like to see more of my work, please visit my online portfolio or email me.

Turn On the Wild

This project designed a series of UI switches.

Every animal created by nature also has smooth and beautiful lines and pure colors.By using micro-animation to combine the simple style of the switch with the shape of the animal, the UI will become vivid and fun. This project attract users to frequently use the application, and be interested in wild-animals.

When the user turns on the phone, without any operation, they can see singing birds, busy insects, lizards basking in the sun, and many animals that they could not name before. They are not just scary, dangerous, or dirty, all creatures have their unique beauty.

ROCK FROM JAPAN FES.

This APP is specially designed for Japanese rock festivals.

The simple graphics and bright red highlight the boldness, angularity and maverick of people who love rock and roll.

Users can check the music festival's performance schedule, musicians, traffic and weather through the APP. And you can buy tickets, T-shirts and hats related to the music festival, and pay online.

The Window

Since the beginning of 2020, due to the lockdown of the city to reduce the spread of COVID-19, many young people rarely care about the weather and scenery outside, and are getting far away from nature.

Based on this situation, the APP provides users with a 30-second wonderful experience through AR technology. All the user needs to do is to walk to the window, raise the phone to face the outdoors, change the color of the water drop, then long press the water drop to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window.

Users are able to enjoy a variety of interesting weather. Each color selection is a random exploration to arouse curiosity and encourage users to interact with nature.

Building Manager Dashboard

This is a data dashboard that helps building managers to better manage water consumption under the "new normal" of COVID-19.

Based on the original dashboard and tables, it re-summarizes the data and presents it in a clearer and better-looking way. Abandoning the stereotype of "put everything on the desktop", the design uses the "cabinet" as the initial concept, only displays the most important parts on the desktop, and provides users with the "door" of "drawers".

Users can also receive data exception alerts. The dashboard is equipped with new functions under the epidemic: entrance temperature detection and disinfection procedures.

Penguins Box

Whenever you want to make an impulsive consumption, the Penguin Box will pop up a vibrating window to remind you that it is better to search for the carbon emissions of the goods you want to buy by the APP.

If you refuse this consumption, you can earn points based on the carbon emissions of the product. Accumulate more points, unlock different kinds of cute penguins, and you can adopt them remotely!

Give them a name, watch the live broadcast at any time, and witness them live in a beautiful habitat with low carbon without worry with your help!
