Hello! I’m Cindy! I’m a designer determined to create introspective and thoughtful design solutions, specialising in typography, print and publication design. The Contact Zone studio has allowed me to probe and explore the diverse perspectives and conflicts women experience in the realm of public spaces. My studio campaign aims to construct a social media identity that will initiate conversations and raise awareness on unsafe spaces.

any place, any space – Report Unsafe Space Poster Series

A promotional poster campaign for the organisation ‘any place, any space’ is designed to promote reflection and dialogue in a new, yet comfortable environment. The series of posters asks women to question if they feel safe in public spaces and whether they should have the opportunity to occupy these areas safely.

any place, any space – Website

A digital space in the format of a website, that gives the opportunity for women to report their experiences within certain spaces and places where they have felt vulnerable or dealt with any sort of harassment. The website also serves as a method to gather data and a precautionary tool to check whether certain spaces are safe or not.

any place, any space – Sticker Campaign

A promotional campaign that encourages participants to use a series of colourful graphic stickers around places where they feel unsafe and take pictures to post on either the website or Instagram page.

any place, any space – Instagram

Accompanying the stickers and website is an Instagram page designed to reach a broader audience. It also serves as a place to collate reports, experiences and pictures in short concise posts and stories as well as educate the wider community about the issue of women in public spaces.
