Hi, I’m Georgia, a Communication Designer with a passion for typography, identity and publication design.
My final design studio class, ‘The Contact Zone’ explores the idea of providing solutions to conflicts. My cohort was encouraged to use their design skills to create positive change in the world. The current situation of living in a pandemic has made me think about how my friends were feeling and so I decided to focus on wellbeing and the struggles of going in and out of lockdown. This formed my major campaign to support those who are anxious about coming out of lockdown.

OPENING UP it's okay
OPENING UP it’s okay, is an initiative created to support those experiencing anxiety with the easing of lockdown restrictions. After conducting a design research kit, I found that a lot of participants where experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions over the past 18 months and some were concerned about returning back to ‘normal life’. Experiencing these emotions myself and with a topic that is not spoken about often, I wanted to provide an opportunity for people to feel safe and to know that it’s okay to feel this way.

Posters
A promotional poster campaign that consists of thoughts about how Melburnians are feeling about coming out of lockdown. It is designed to promote support by letting others know that they might be feeling the same way as you.

Zine
This zine was created to tell the story of what it is like to experience anxiety.

App
To accompany the posters, the App is a tool that uses physical sensations to identify anxiety and help control the nervousness of going out of home.

With Love From Mum
A recipe book created for the ‘Home Grown’ brief reflecting on a food memory. My food memory revolves around my mum's delicious Teriyaki Salmon which is a great replacement and much healthier alternative than traditional fish and chips takeaway. Mum’s cooking is very homely and cosy and was the inspiration for the cookbook ‘With Love From Mum’. Through a playful exploration of type and photography, I have created a book that I hope to use for many years to come and pass onto many family and friends.

The Meeting Place
The project ‘Vision 2022’ is an exploration of the unique relationship between identity design and culture. The Meeting Place is a proposed identity for the exhibition of Papunya Tula Artists Pty. held at State Library Victoria. The artists work is inspired by dreamtime stories created in natural and raw surroundings. With this in mind an unique brand identity was created which includes an invitation, a clever wayfinding system, a microsite and merchandise.
