Hi, my name is Haixin Wang and I am currently an Industrial Design Student at Monash University. As a designer, I enjoy identifying problems in everyday life and transforming them into simple and practical product designs that can improve people's lives.

Diaboo - design for type one diabetes

Diaboo is an insulin syringe designed for people with type 1 diabetes. Countless model tests have been carried out to make its shape more ergonomic and easier to handle than conventional insulin pens. The Diaboo also has a matching app that allows diabetics to control the amount of insulin injected each time they use it. It also supports the viewing of injection history, total daily dose and more.

Design in use

This image demonstrates how diabetic people can administer injections using this equipment while giving a clearer idea of Diaboo's size and application. The size of the device is approximately 100mm(l)*50mm(w)*20mm(h).

Exploded View

A battery, mainboard, push tube, fastening plate, and other components make up the product's internal structure. To preserve the insulin pen at optimal temperature, the shell features an insulated, internal metal and an external plastic cover.
