Hi, I’m Claire.
I am a multimedia designer with a background in media, communication and film studies. With a high interest in filmmaking, I enjoy creating unique motion designs through combining graphic and illustration elements with videography as well as photography. I’m a creative soul with multicultural background from the experience of living in South Korea, Malaysia and Australia. Also, I mostly get inspirations from the surroundings and environment of my daily life such as family, friends, places I live or have lived, objects, music, and films.

Tears of the sea
A motion graphics animation that demonstrates water pollution due to excessive amounts of plastic packages and its consequences on the lives underwater. It draws the sad reality of marine animals but this video also suggests the possibilities that can change through reducing plastic packages by substituting them with natural ingredients that are harmless to the environment. This project allowed me to figure out my design identity and taught me how important it is to have a significant message that we want to deliver and depict.

Title sequence: Home
A title sequence that well expresses its theme and genre without explaining any story. Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, the filming location was extremely limited. However, that led me to pay more attention to the surrounding elements and I was filled with inspiration! I have filmed everything that was lying in my room; bed, shelves, walls etc. It was fun to explore and experiment with my personal belongings as film props. With the combination of footage I filmed and a few stock video footages, a spooky title sequence of a mystery show came to light.

Interview Prep
This short film is about a morning ritual of a protagonist’s interview preparation. This film focuses on the continuity of the scenes. The close-ups and extreme close-up shots with fast-paced editing keep the video interesting. I’ve tried to pay attention to the cinematography especially with the movements and the background music that compliments each other. On top of that, to express the mood of morning, modernism and professionalism, I kept the overall colours a bit of cold and muted colours such as grey, black and beige with vivid colours of a few elements for visual entertainment.
