Hey! I’m Jessie Caine, I have a Communication Design degree from Monash University. I’m based in Melbourne and my work predominantly explores motion, branding and illustration with a love for minimalist simplicity, I produce design solutions that are both content and concept-driven.

Pegasus
Focusing on the mystical and technological, I produced ‘Pegasus’ to explore how the two can connect. I included my love for animation in this project to bring the work to life, and make it more engaging.

Machine Vision
Focusing on how our technological devices have become incredibly more intelligent and consequently more invisible I created ‘Machine Vision’. I wanted to make the technological aspects of this title card more noticeable than the others, to counter the invisible we experience in today's technology.

Shadow Ban Memory
Focusing on technology and how we interact with it, I created ‘Shadow Ban Memory’. Our interaction with technology can appear to be supernatural and I wanted to implement this very subtly in my work. I included my love for animation in this project to bring the work to life, and make it more engaging.

Broadcast - Live From New Worlds
I explored the relationship between human and technology, specifically computers and we blindly trust them. If our computer asks us for a password we don’t question it. This blind trust allows our computer to access all kinds of data. I explored the User layer of The Stack as it’s about how ‘users are identified and controlled’. I formatted my video as a computer game experience, from the point of view of both the human and the computer, taking turns to see each one's perspective. Through the interaction, the computer develops a stronger and more controlling personality. I wanted to show in an extreme way how computers control our lives, and disconnect us from real life.

Little Food Festival - The Food System
This Animation for Little Food Festival was targeted for kids aged between 5-12 years old. I really wanted to make it fun, colourful and engaging for the younger kids so they would watch and learn about the food system. I had a lot of fun creating the characters on this project. My animation will be projected in Federation Square in the CBD next year.

Dandelion Photography
This animated branding project allowed me to have my research reflect in my work. I wanted to create a unique and engaging way of making the logo have aspects of both the dandelion and the photography. Dandelions are a very unique flower as they represent the three celestial bodies during different phases of its life cycle; The Sun, The Moon and The Stars. In the early days of the dandelions life cycle the flower is yellow, resembling the sun. The dispersing seeds of the plant resemble the stars and the end cycle of the dandelion, when it is a ‘puff ball of dandelion plant’ resembles the moon.
