My name is Melanie Dang and I am currently studying design and economics at Monash. Majority of my studio work has been focused on illustration, photography and motion graphics. Many of my photography projects have followed a loose nature theme, which involves using a range of perspectives to capture a single subject. I enjoy both the logistical and creative sides of design and would like to create designs which help inform or teach a group of people.

Mirrored

This is a video designed with a livestream format, featuring pixel graphics and a RPG(role playing game). The project explores a relationship between reality and a digital world. Pursuing realism in video games helps a player immerse themselves into that fictional world. At what point does the line between our reality and the digital reality become invisible?

Two's Company

This project was an opportunity to attempt frame-by-frame animation. I wanted to express the importance of acknowledging the people around you, especially during circumstances such as the one we have faced this year. The animation shows the beginning of a journey between two characters who slowly bond over mundane things.
