Hi! I’m Mo, a graphic designer based in Melbourne. I enjoy working with typography, branding, visual identity and publication design. I’m also a passionate illustrator, often weaving in my illustrations throughout my design projects. I aim to create projects that are engaging and meaningful, where my designs can have a positive impact on all audiences.

Books in Homes Rebrand

Books in Homes is a not-for-profit organisation that provides books for children in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic conditions. This project rebrands the visual identity of Books in Homes to give it a brighter and more engaging look. This is done to appeal to the students and schools involved with the programs, as well as other individuals and organisations. Books in Homes’ previous identity was lacking in consistency and vibrancy; therefore, I used bright colours and playful image-making to appeal to wider audiences.

Books in Homes Brand Guidelines

A brand guidelines document was created for Books in Homes’ new identity to clearly define rules and standards on how the brand should be represented to the world, especially in marketing collateral. Typography, colour, logo, illustrations and copywriting sections are included to ensure the new visual identity can be sustained and kept consistent across all communications.

The Bunny Whisperer

The project aims to activate the problem solving impulse of younger audiences by developing a design pitched as a learning tool. The chosen subject matter is bunny behaviour, where users are required to match up each of the 25 illustrated cards with the 25 description cards explaining the meaning behind a rabbit’s behaviour. The target audience for this learning tool are primary school children and older. The final outcome is a deck of 50 cards in total to engage their learning skills in a fun and creative way.

Clayton Rd Observation

Clayton Rd is a street filled with bargain and fresh produce stores containing many intricate and fascinating textures. The publication highlights these textures and represents them through architectural forms using pure illustration. The textures were represented in this way because I wanted to highlight the individuality and personality of each owner’s storefront as these portray the charisma and charm of Clayton Rd. This publication aims to impel readers to appreciate the enormous array of textures and the individuality of the architecture of each storefront that makes up Clayton Rd.

Caring For Your Cat

Caring For Your Cat is an illustrated guide which teaches and informs new cat owners how to care for their newly-adopted cat by providing detailed and essential information and caring instructions. Information is categorised into key milestones of a cat’s life so that the reader can learn and refer back to the guide or a specific section of the guide when needed.

Tea: Explained

Tea: Explained is a binder pack for T2 customers to learn the various health benefits of each tea, complementary foods to enhance the teas’ flavours, tea recipes and fun facts. There is a bi-folded ‘fact sheet’ made for each of the 107 different T2 teas and they can be collected into an A5 binder, which can be purchased in stores. The corresponding tea fact sheets will be given to customers who have bought any tea from a T2 retailer. Consumers can choose which fact sheets they’d like to collect and they’re able to collate as much or as little information as they want, and in which order to place them into the binder. This essentially allows readers to create their own book.
