Hi, I’m Liv! I am passionate about using the iterative design process to create meaningful outcomes that start a conversation. With a focus on identity and editorial design, I love using bold colour and typography to produce concept-driven outcomes. The Contact Zone studio has allowed me to truly immerse myself in the exploration of interesting and interactive outcomes and has evolved my perception of what visual communication can look like in today’s world. This studio provided the opportunity to investigate and create considered design in order to manifest change.

The Time Is Now — Interactive Mural

‘The Time Is Now’ is a campaign designed to start a conversation among Australians about the national climate emergency. Targeted at a variety of ages, this interactive mural encourages the public to communicate 'why climate action is important to them' by writing on a square and sticking it to the wall in an allocated spot. As the grid is filled, the word ‘Change’ is revealed; a timely reminder for Australians that there are a multitude of reasons we need to change in the interest of our country’s future.

The Time Is Now — Poster Series

Spread across Australian cities and public spaces, these posters are designed to capture the attention of passers-by without overloading them with statistics or information like current public campaigns often do. The open-ended (and somewhat ominous) phrase ‘The Time Is Now’, allows the audience to take in the message whilst simultaneously delivering the sense of urgency and threat conveyed throughout the campaign.

The Time Is Now — Instagram Campaign

Rather than shame and guilt people by exposing the lack of action to-date, ‘The Time Is Now’ social media campaign has been curated to inspire and educate Australians on our climate emergency. Whilst maintaining that sense of urgency, the campaign permits a fresh and encouraging perspective on the matter in order to stimulate change. In the technology driven world of today, social media platforms are critical to spread awareness and invigorate action.

Melbourne Cinémathèque — A1 Calendar

Melbourne Cinémathèque explores a newfound perspective on classical film. Through outcomes including posters, an A1 calendar and digital screens, the rebranding utilises bold colour and typography to convey a contemporary angle to the classic film society.

Vision 2022 — Exhibition Invitations

This project sought to explore how one can curate a structure to display artists work, without taking away from the art itself. Through researching and understanding the photography of Australian artist David Moore, it was revealed how minimalism is sometimes the best means for exhibition. This project was further explored in outcomes such as way-finding and the development of a microsite.
