My name is Ramir, and I'm passionate about making design accessible to others to ease their lives. What I love about design is it being able to translate people's ideas or issues into concrete solutions. The rapid growth of nomadic lifestyles, such as the RV (recreational vehicle) and van movement, has created opportunities to develop new infrastructure and provide improved services to support its users. Located at national parks and gas stations along popular routes, UNDA is a safe and effortless way to dispose of RV and Vans' grey and black water waste. It has been designed to reduce waste contamination and increase awareness of how grey and black water needs to be disposed of.

UNDA, meaning "wave" in Latin, is a grey and black water dumping system for RV and Vans.

Made of concrete, fiberglass, steel, and PVC, UNDA is built to withstand any environmental condition over time. UNDA connects to a 3000L fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) septic tank that can accommodate for up to four dumping ports in high traffic areas.

What is grey and black water? & How should it be disposed of?

Greywater is household wastewater from e.g. shower, sink, and laundry. Blackwater is waste from toilets.

The disposal of grey and black water varies at each location. But according to Leave No Trace® (LNT) and the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) policy, "No greywater is to be discharged from a self-contained vehicle unless allowable by local authorities or access to a dump point is impractical."

How to use UNDA

UNDA allows RV and Van users to connect their greywater hose or pour from a portable wheel water tank into the dumping port, then use its foot-operated cleaning system to sanitise the dumping port. Once cleaned, the user can wash their hands at the sink then use the freshwater connections to refill their tank.

UNDA at The Gas Station

Implementing UNDA at gas stations along popular routes will lower the chances of illegal dumping and expand the travelling range for RV and van users without worrying about their freshwater intake and grey/black water disposal.
