Dunera Lives - Book Trailer

Promotional book trailer for Monash Publishing in promotion of the release of the second book in the Dunera Lives Series. The series (A Visual History & Profiles) is significant historical research following the lives of 2000 refugees brought prisoner to Australia following WWII. This trailer utilises a soft hand-drawn animation reflective of the illustrations created by these men to document their experience in Australia.

Jari

Culture and clothing are intertwined. For this documentation, I decided to showcase a collection of sarees (traditional Indian garment) my mother has accumulated over the years. These sarees exhibit beautiful colours, patterns, tones and visuals that specific to location and time (from 1985 to 2020). To create this book, I focused on the idea of time and the progression of design – to take the viewer on a visual journey through the years of the Indian culture. The final publication was hand-bound with a coptic stitch.
