Zero distance

In 2999, Women’s economic status in society is improved, and fertility rate drastically drops. The ageing of the population is also intensified, and only a few young people in the world remain. To solve this problem, people have to use genetic engineering to create babies to take care of the old. Yet, technologically producing humans further isolated people.

Zero distance

Zero distance aims to reduce the sense of social alienation and create a “bridge” between the young to foster their emotional connections to one another. When you come to this space, you will first have a conversation with AI, which automatically matches you with the perfect person through data analysis. When two people are led to separate rooms, you cannot see each other in this space but smell each other. If the smell matches, the room will automatically merge. Then you can choose the next game or other activity through the VR projection. If all goes well, you can exchange contact information with each other to open your new story in the future.

The main components of this space are made up of single-sided visible glass, changeble wire mesh, white corian, and wire rope. A new type of shrinkable future material is adopted as the main activity space for people. AI can observe the state of various internal spaces from the outside world, while the people inside cannot see each other. The wire mesh wrapped in the outer layer of the main space, and the structural stability of the space is enhanced by the connection with the wire rope which connected to the ground. A main passage that connects each space, and provides up and down stairs and slide structures, allowing people to walk freely between each space.
