I am passionate about creating impactful designs, experimental processes, and producing conceptually rich outcomes. I really value projects that have depth and are driven by design thinking. I want all my work to have something to say, whether it’s through identity, print or digital creations. I love illustration and typography work and have even been able to create my own typefaces which has been a great skill and learning process. Through my major studio project, I have learnt to really appreciate designing for good, communicating with purpose and placed more of a focus on human-centred work. I have a lot to say, so feel free to get in touch and have a chat or visit my site.

Flat Out Rebrand

Flat Out is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support and advocacy for women leaving the prison system. With my redesign, I created a warm and inviting visual system that celebrates and humanises women who have faced incarceration, while straying away from stereotypical prison-related imagery. I found the stories of members of Flat Out inspiring and really wanted to emphasise the sense of community and agency that the organisation has created.

Flat Out Brand Guidelines

With my rebrand of Flat Out, I wanted to maintain a consistent and professional design across different platforms. A structured layout, contrasted with looser, hand drawn illustrations, a warm colour palette and bold typography allowed for a final identity that was friendly, yet powerful and easy to navigate.

Flat Out Welcome Kit

Alongside the rebrand, I created a Welcome Kit, for new members of Flat Out. This warm and inviting introduction to Flat Out, aims to build trust between the women and the organisation. The kit provides these women with important information and includes assets such as key rings and a tote bag, that ideally will help them feel a part of the Flat Out community, demonstrating the caring nature and values of the organisation.

Flat Out Posters/Progress Maps

These posters are part of the Welcome Kit. They allow members to track their individual journeys with the organisation. Flat Out maintains a long-lasting relationship with these women and it is valuable for the members to be able to track their own progress. Expressive pattern and illustration alongside the welcoming colour palette carry on the brand values and personality.

Melbourne Cinémathèque 2022 Calendar

This concept for the Melbourne Cinémathèque 2022 Season is centred around rare films being almost a connection to another world. I built the identity around the asterisk. In a normal context this typographic element is often alluding to more information, clarifying an idea or indicating further exploration. In this case, although it indicates extra information, none is to be found, and the only way the audience will find out more is if they experience the films for themselves.

Vision 2022

This is the design identity that I created for a hypothetical exhibition for contemporary Australian artist Dale Frank. It is built around an idea of Frank’s; that viewing a single painting, or even a collection, cannot be enough for someone to understand the breadth and complexity of his practice. My identity reflects this idea, through the use of broken type and scattered letterforms, only legible through the use of layering. I explored the relationship between legibility and communication for this project, in order to create a memorable design system that successfully represented Frank’s artistry.
