Hi! My name is Xue Guan. I’m a graphic designer who recently graduated from Monash University. As a designer, I’m interested in branding, illustration and photography work.
For my final studio project, I chose to showcase my work on helping a not-for-profit organisation; Assitance Dogs Australia with an aim to revitalise their branding identity and communication design. My work for them includes a comprehensive brand guidelines document, a redesigned website for the organisation and a series of branded collateral which includes a poster, flyer, folder and merchandise to promote their cause.

ADA LOGO
Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) is a Not For Profit (NFP) organisation that provides free assistance to the disabled. Assistance Dogs Australia, established in 1996, trains dogs to help people with physical disabilities, autism, or post-traumatic stress disorder and provide a range of services for these people and their families.
This new mark was created carefully in a circular, clear and friendly style. The rounded edges make it approachable and friendly. The name of ADA was arranged in a circle representing the wheelchair, and the leash was highlighted by our bright ADA red, which also consisted of an “eye” shape with “ASSISTANCE DOGS”.

ADA BRAND GUIDELINES
The logo needs to be seen clearly, so it should never be crowded by other elements. To prevent this, it should always have an area of clear space around it. This is equal to the weight/height of an uppercase ‘N’ around all sides.
For ADA’s primary logo, there should always be clear space equal to the weight of two capital letters “N” from the wordmark on all four sides of the logo. To add a colour background, the circle’s radius should be added to the weight of “N” and then leave another clear space to the circular background. Likewise, there should be clear space equal to the weight of a capital letter “N” from the wordmark on all four sides of the secondary logo.
