My name is Yanye. I am studying in Monash University's industrial design program. I think design is an effective way to improve the quality of people's lives and help solve different problems that human beings might face. Given people's most basic needs, I'm most interested in exploring how products interact with people's emotions. For my project, I designed a breathing lamp that projects lighting and breathing sounds to help users relax and fall asleep quicker.

The product's name and shape are inspired by the jellyfish. Jellyfish seem to merge with water and swim by contracting and relaxing their muscles. With their gentle dance, jellyfish convey a sense of calm and relaxation, similar to the smooth breathing of people when they are asleep.
