Sculpture has a visceral tactility much like moulding your own skin in your hands. Plaster lathered onto wood like flesh onto bones and assemblages incorporated as garments and jewellery. My practise explores the concept of home and identity using the body and the bed as a vessel.
Alongside my sculptural work and assemblages, I explore figure through painting and drawing.

it was there in a dream

This oil on canvas painting depicts two other worldly creatures in an expressive manner with a muted collection of tones. The painting title 'it was there in a dream' is based on the distorted and strange sensations of dreaming and the memory you have of them when you wake.

abiogenesis

This video work uses the found object as an assemblage, overlaid with footage from the sea as well as footage taken from a digitally rendered study of mars surface. The work explores origin and birth, change and purpose. The idea that found items had a life before they crossed your path. The audio is the distorted sounds of the wind at the beach.

narcissus

This is a painting depicting Narcissus by the pool in which he stared at his reflection. This work was done with ink on canvas and in an expressive emotive style. The distortion of limb and face is a motif that requires in my painting and drawing practise.
