MY PRACTICE INVOLVES THE ONGOING EXPLORATION OF VISUAL METAMORPHOSIS, PLAY, PERFORMANCE THROUGH THE STAGES OF DECAY. AS SOMEONE CREATING CONCEPTUAL ARTWORKS, HAVING DISCUSSIONS WITH THE AUDIENCE PLAY AN IMPORTANT PART IN THIS PROJECT. THE BREAD DOUGH PROJECT CONTINUES TO TRANSFORM AND INCORPORATE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES FROM THE AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION AND SHARING THE PROCESS OF MAKING BREAD DOUGH HELPS ME TO FIND A CREATIVE COLLABORATIVE RESPONSE. MY PRACTICE HAS ALSO BEEN INFORMED BY LAURA WILSON, "FOLD AND STRETCH" SERIES, AS IT INTERCONNECTS WITH THE BREAD DOUGH SERIES AND THE FOCUS OF PHYSICALITY AND MOVEMENT, WEIGHT AND GRAVITY WITHIN THE PLAYFUL NATURE OF MATERIALITY INVOLVED.

Merge

A visual representation of the diversity of colours, textures, and details of waves when the colours overlap and merge with one another could be quite performative and alive in its own way.

Changes over time

A short video documentation of bread dough through a timelapse. Debris picked up along the way to change the form and appearance of the bread dough. This performative process of the dough hanging on the tree, falling off, and aging over time reminds me of themes like the cycle of life. This video goes about 8 minutes 34 seconds.

Lime Studies (4), 2021

I feel a sense of connection while observing the lime green dough interacting with the leaves, the tree bark and the overall environment in my garden. There’s sort of this fantasy vibe to it which fascinates me.

Experimentations with coloured dough and digital mixed media (2)

In relation to my interest on the mold and decay series, the connection of the coloured dough and the environment would be represented in a different way from the rest of the past dough series without colour.
