No Bad Moods exist when Kathleen is in the print studio, they are warded off with her caring and genuine positive energy and the never-ending baked goods. I wanted to show my appreciation for her, while also celebrating the community of the print studio- and thus my lemon slice was born!
The Lemon Slice recipe is from my friend Dolores, who made me lemon slice in exchange for some prints.
The No Bad Moods icing decoration is inspired by No Bad Moods Allowed Copper Etching (2021)

Rainbow Cakes Make Me Cry (Rainbow Cake) brought into the studio on my birthday, the one year anniversary of me crying over a Rainbow Cake. (look at etching description for more information) This cake is a tribute to the original cake. I was a brave girl and I did not cry this year. I may have been momentarily teary eyed. (People were being very nice to me! It was a really good birthday.)

Cake was cut up and then shared around to staff and students who were helping prepare the gallery spaces for this exhibition.

A supportive mini artist community in the printworkshop during our 6th lockdown, Jo, Kathleen, and I, and the two amazing print technicians; Jaime and Mahla. This entire project would not have been possible without all the support from Jaime and Mahla. Thank you for helping me with my art. This project would not be anywhere near as vivacious if it wasn't for the lovely company of Jo, Kathleen, and Maddie throughout the semester. Thank you for giving new things to make art about.

Last year, I celebrated my birthday at Keiraleagh House, a hostel in Wollongong which I was living and working in at the time. I didn't have many friends in Wollongong besides the other people living in the hostel.

The night of my birthday, my housemates, surprised me with a cake and singing happy birthday. I did not expect anything from them and was genuinely touched. What shocked me even more was as I cut into the cake as it appeared to be my favourite type of cake; rainbow cake. (HOW DID THEY KNOW?)

This resulted in me completely breaking down in tears and my poor housemates being quite confused.
