My series of lens based works exhist under the title “A Gothic lens over Rose Venue,” which materialises itself in film works and cyanotypes. My practise explores my interest in Gothic style and horror film tropes and how these genres intersect with my interpretation of Australian Gothic, the rural landscape I work within and queer experiences. The fantasy slips and real fear emerges through audio snippets and distorted tv screens. The real horror lies in the history of the landscape, the colonialism and being queer in rural areas.
