Enabling Technologies in Medical Practice
Summit details
The TEI Summit for Future Leaders will be a three-day forum incorporating practical workshops in Medical Robotics, Simulation, Ethics and AI in medicine. Students will also undertake workshops which examine communication, legal, ethical, human rights, global inequity implications of enabling technologies in medical education. Transnational and cross disciplinary student groups will each prepare a short presentation about the promise and risks of enabling technology as it relates to their future practice at the conclusion of the summit. The learning outcomes of the TEI Summit for Future Leaders for delegates include;
- Describe the emergence and scope of technology enabled medical practice
- To understand and describe the legal and ethical implications as well as potential of medical technologies and human-machine interactions.
- Understand the principles and applications of robotic assisted medicine.
- To demonstrate basic practical skills in robotics and simulation settings
- Understand the role of human factors and human communication in technology enabled medicine.
Student Group Presentation Project
This Summit aims to explore the promise and pitfalls of enabling technologies in medicine. Participants are encouraged to present innovative ideas and collaborative projects that highlight the importance of diverse perspectives in addressing opportunities and issues arising from AI, Robotics, Simulation and Geopolitics.
