MiLabs SAMPL
Develop, Test and Scale Processes
MiLabs SAMPL (Student Analytical Makerspace and Pilot Laboratories) is a lab environment for companies and researchers developing chemical and biological processes, from early experimentation through to pilot-scale production.
SAMPL operates on two levels: companies and researchers can access equipment directly for their own use, or engage with SAMPL’s researchers, technical specialists and embedded student talent through a structured applied R&D program.
Both pathways sit inside the same hands-on environment, with technical talent working side by side with industry on real commercial challenges
Access Industry-Grade Equipment
SAMPL's analytical instrumentation is supported through a formal technology partnership with Agilent Technologies.
The equipment covers chromatography, molecular and atomic spectroscopy, molecular biology and incubation, and process design and scale-up. If you are developing a chemical or biological process and need to know whether SAMPL has what you need, the capabilities document is the place to start.
Access is straightforward; interested parties complete an in-person induction and equipment training. Once trained, you book what you need through Monash’s iLab Platform and get to work. MiLabs residents receive a 20% discount on all instrument bookings.
