Established in 1958, Monash is an international, high-quality and globally-recognised University, distinguished for excellent and innovative education and research and an entrepreneurial and inclusive culture.

Released in 2021, our new decadal Strategic Plan, Impact 2030, articulates Monash’s ambition to address the global challenges of our age – climate change, geopolitical security and thriving communities – for the betterment of our local, national and international communities. Through our education and research, in partnership with industry, government and community, we seek to create real and lasting change for all.

The position of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) (PVCI) represents a significant opportunity for the successful candidate to build on the momentum created by our foundational PVCI, Professor Jacinta Elston. As a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Committee, the PVCI’s vision, enthusiasm and thought leadership, translated into action, will help strengthen university, government, industry and community engagement. The appointee will also support the goals and values of Impact 2030 and contribute towards a society that recognises, respects, includes and celebrates Indigenous peoples, cultures and knowledge.
